Enabling C8 Users to use HTML Items
Error Message:
The user does not have the assigned capability to use HTMLitem

Solution:
Ensure the Traverse privilege is in place for users (group/roles) for Report Studio capability, and that they have execute and traverse privileges on the HTML Items in Reports. If this is removed, users cannot run reports containing HTML items.
Steps:
- Login to Cognos 8 as a user with System Administration privileges.
- From the Tools menu, click Capabilities.
- For Report Studio capabilities, click the Properties link, and then click permissions.
- Add the Traverse permission for the approriate users / roles /groups
- Save changes to return to the Capabilities Page.
- Click on Report Studio on the left hand side to view the list of sub-capabilities
- For HTML Items in Reports, click the Properties link, and then click permissions.
- If necessary, click the box to override parent permissions.
- Add the Execute and Traverse permission for the approriate users / roles /groups.
- Save changes to return to the Capabilities Page.
